Meals-on-Wheels

Meals-on-Wheels is designed for senior citizens unable to prepare meals for themselves due to physical or mental impairments related to age and medical condition. Through the program, a volunteer delivers a meal directly to the homebound senior citizen's door. Meals are planned to meet one-third of the current recommended dietary allowances.

Eligibility:
 * The person must be at least 60 years of age or older, or be the spouse of a person at least 60 years of age.
 * The individual must be homebound.
 * The person must be unable to attend the Noon meal at the Senior Center because of physical or emotional disabilities.
 * The individual must be physically or emotionally unable to obtain food or prepare full meals.
 * Eligibility for this program is not based on income.
 * If a senior citizen is not eligible for Meals-on-Wheels, he or she can have a hot Noon meal at the Two Rivers Senior Center, served Monday through Friday.

Become a Meals-on-Wheels Volunteer
Volunteers are the vital link in our services and add an immeasurable human value to the quality of what we do. We believe that those we serve deserve to be treated with dignity and respect and our volunteers are the living examples of that belief. More than 600 people a year donate their time to Meals-on-Wheels and many seniors tell us the best part about meal delivery is the friendly, caring volunteers. Meals-on-Wheels offers many opportunities for those who want to get involved with a nonprofit in our community and help seniors stay independent. Visit our volunteer page to find out more information about being a volunteer driver, or other ways you can get involved at the Senior Center.
